Proactive Patrol Leads to Firearms Arrest in College Area
SAN DIEGO, CA — “Two Eastern Division officers were conducting proactive patrol in the College Area when they saw a male casing parked vehicles. Officers contacted the suspect and attempted to detain him.
During the detention, the suspect resisted, pulled away, and reached toward his waistband. Officers conducted a pat-down for weapons and located a loaded, non-serialized handgun equipped with a high-capacity magazine.
The suspect was ultimately booked for multiple weapons violations and a probation violation.
This case highlights the real and unpredictable dangers officers face during everyday enforcement contacts. Strong, proactive police work by Eastern Division helped remove a dangerous weapon from the community.”
