CAMARILLO, CA — January 18, 2026 — Ventura County sheriff’s detectives have arrested an Oxnard man accused of causing hundreds of
dollars in graffiti damage to a freeway sign during a 2025 tagging spree.

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sr. Deputy Frank W. Corona,
“the vandalism was initially reported during the third week of November 2025,” when deputies
from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Camarillo Patrol Station responded to the area near
U.S. Highway 101 for a report of graffiti. Deputies did not find a suspect at the scene, but they
discovered “fresh tagging on a freeway entrance sign.”

The damage exceeded $400, prompting detectives to treat the case as a felony vandalism
investigation. Based on the nature of the incident, patrol deputies notified the Camarillo Special
Enforcement Unit, which began assisting with the follow-up.

Detectives worked the case for weeks, writing multiple warrants that “helped them build
probable cause” pointing to Rickey Reveles, 27, of Oxnard, as a suspect.

A search warrant covering Reveles’ residence, vehicles, person and property was served on
Reveles on the morning of January 15th during a traffic enforcement stop on Reveles’ vehicle. An
hour later, investigators served the search warrant at his residence where they recovered items
that included “spray paint, an etching tool and stickers bearing the tagging crew’s name.”

Reveles taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on a
charge of felony vandalism.
