Sutter County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Live Oak Resident in Firearms Investigation
SUTTER, CA – On January 15, 2026, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Live Oak resident following an investigation into the manufacturing and suspected trafficking of stolen firearms. The investigation centered on a residence located in the 10100 block of N Street, where authorities had received reports of illegal firearms activity.
The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Kenneth Mosley, was known to law enforcement as being on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for a previous firearms-related offense. At the time of the investigation, Mosley was also the subject of an outstanding felony no-bail arrest warrant and had a documented history of resisting arrest.
During the course of the investigation, law enforcement personnel conducted surveillance and observed Mosley departing the residence on a bicycle. Following the initial detention, the Special Enforcement Detail Team (SED) responded to the residence to execute a search warrant. During the search, investigators recovered a high-powered rifle, ammunition, and other evidence indicating the presence of additional firearms.
Mosley was subsequently booked into the Sutter County Jail. The charges filed against him include being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, resisting or obstructing an officer, evading law enforcement, and a warrant for a PRCS violation. The investigation was handled by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office with the support of specialized tactical units.
