Two Vallejo Residents Arrested Following Counterfeit Currency Investigation in Napa
NAPA, CA — JANUARY 9TH 2026
Detectives from the Special Enforcement Unit conducted a vehicle stop on December 31, 2025, involving a car departing the Napa Premium Outlets. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to contain numerous store merchandise bags. Based on observations at the scene, detectives established probable cause to believe that fraudulent transactions had occurred. Investigators subsequently confirmed that at least one retail establishment had received counterfeit $100 bills during a transaction.
Two suspects, identified as residents of Vallejo, were taken into custody following the stop. In coordination with officers from the American Canyon Police Department, authorities determined that the individuals were renting a room at a hotel in American Canyon. Detective Elliott of the Special Enforcement Unit authored a search warrant for the premises, which was subsequently executed.
During the search of the hotel room, detectives located and seized equipment used in the production of currency. Items recovered included computers, printers, ink, dye, and specialized paper. Additionally, investigators found infrared lights, washed bills, completed counterfeit currency, and bills in various stages of manufacture.
Following the discovery of the production equipment, additional charges were filed against the two suspects, who later posted bail. Further investigation into the matter indicated that at least one of the suspects has been involved in passing counterfeit bills across several Bay Area municipalities, including Napa, Vacaville, Novato, St. Helena, and Concord. The Special Enforcement Unit maintains that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety within the Napa community.
