Two Suspects Arrested in North Auburn Vehicle Theft Incidents
AUBURN, CA — January 7th 2025 — “On New Year’s Eve, Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for a series of vehicle thefts in North Auburn.
On December 28, several residents in the New Airport Road area reported items stolen from their unlocked vehicles, including electronics, cash, and purses.
Deputies responded, spoke with victims, and collected multiple pieces of surveillance video. Those videos showed two male suspects, and deputies worked closely with our Property Crimes Unit to identify them.
On December 31, investigators received information identifying one of the suspects as Alexander Veimau-Wynn, 20, of Auburn.
He was contacted, interviewed, and arrested for grand theft, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and petty theft.
Information obtained during that arrest led deputies to the second suspect, Donell Fort, Jr., 19, of Rocklin. Later that same day, deputies and Property Crimes Unit detectives located Fort at his residence, where he was detained without incident. Evidence found during his arrest linked him to the thefts, and he was arrested for grand theft, conspiracy, petty theft, and possession of a controlled substance.
These arrests helped close at least five vehicle theft cases. We’d like to thank the community members who reported the crimes and shared surveillance footage, your information made a difference.
