Traffic Stop Results in Firearms Charges and Probation Violation Arrest
VISALIA, CA – “Traffic Stop Leads to Firearms Arrest
This morning, a Visalia Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Whitendale Avenue and Chinowth Street. The driver was identified as 38-year-old Eli Benjamin Gallegos. During a probation search of the vehicle, officers located a concealed, unregistered P80 9mm handgun, a 9mm Glock magazine, and a loaded 31-round 9mm Glock magazine.
Gallegos was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm (29800 PC), possession of ammunition by a prohibited person (30305 PC), carrying a loaded firearm in public (25850 PC), possession of an unserialized firearm (29180 PC), and violation of probation (1203.2 PC). His vehicle was towed from the scene. #visaliapd”
