Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Christmas Day Drive-By Shooting in Boronda
MONTEREY, CA – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has initiated an investigation into a drive-by shooting that took place Thursday evening in the Boronda area of Salinas. According to officials, deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Cranford Road at approximately 5:20 p.m. on December 25, 2025, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arriving at the scene, investigators determined that several shots had been fired from a vehicle traveling through the area. Law enforcement reported that the gunfire struck an occupied residence as well as multiple vehicles parked nearby. Despite the discharge of weapons into an occupied structure, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no injuries were sustained by residents or bystanders during the incident.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to identify suspects and a motive. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is requesting that individuals who were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting, or those who may have observed suspicious activity, contact investigators. Furthermore, officials are encouraging local businesses and residents to review private video surveillance footage for any information that may assist in the identification of those involved.
