Flock Safety Cameras Assist Watsonville Police in Recovery of Stolen Vehicle and Firearm

WATSONVILLE, CA – “A stolen car out of Watsonville has been recovered, and a loaded firearm has been taken off our streets thanks to the help of our Flock Safety Cameras.

Our Officers were alerted that a stolen car was in the City of Watsonville at about 7:30 last night. They were able to find the vehicle near the intersection of Hushbeck Avenue and East Beach Street.

As the Officers approached, two passengers got out and ran. The 16-year-old driver also tried to run but was quickly detained. While searching the car, Officers found a loaded, unserialized firearm.

The 16-year-old was taken to the Santa Cruz County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm, and violation of probation.”
