Burglary Suspect Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit and Recovery of Ghost Gun

SAN DIEGO, CA – Law enforcement officers have taken a burglary suspect into custody following a pursuit in the Sorrento Valley and Carmel Valley areas. The arrest followed several weeks of investigative work by detectives who utilized Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology to identify a vehicle linked to multiple commercial burglaries in Sorrento Valley.

Early Sunday morning, patrol officers located the identified vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not stop for officers and subsequently crashed the vehicle. Following the collision, the individual fled the scene on foot but was located and detained in the Carmel Valley area.

A search of the vehicle yielded property connected to the recent commercial burglaries, as well as a significant quantity of narcotics packaged for sale. Additionally, officers recovered a loaded AR-15 style ghost gun equipped with a suppressor. According to department reports, the suspect is a convicted felon and was out on bail at the time of the incident.

The suspect now faces charges related to the burglaries, narcotics possession, and firearm violations. This operation was part of a broader effort to address commercial theft and remove illegal weapons and narcotics from the community.
