“On Saturday December 20, just before 4 p.m., a shooting occurred in South Sacramento near the 7600 block of Power Inn Road following an argument outside a business.
During the confrontation, the suspect, 34-year-old Terrian Adams, produced a dark-colored handgun, pointed it at the victim, and threatened to shoot him.
As the victim turned away, Adams fired a round in his direction. While the shot missed, a fragment struck the victim in the back of the right leg, causing a minor injury.
A friend of the victim arrived to pick him up and briefly confronted Adams, who again displayed the handgun before fleeing the area.
While fleeing, Adams placed the firearm into a woman’s bag without her knowledge. The firearm was later recovered and determined to be an illegal, unserialized handgun (commonly referred to as a ghost gun) equipped with an illegal 30-round magazine.
Today, Adams was located and barricaded himself inside a residence on the 8300 block of Fieldpoppy Circle. After an hours-long standoff, the Sheriff’s SWAT team located Adams hiding in the attic and safely took him into custody without further incident.
Adams was charged with negligent discharge of a weapon, shooting at a vehicle, addict in possession and obstruction.
This operation involved Central Division Patrol Deputies, Sheriff’s K9, UAS (drone), and CINT, all working together to bring this incident to a safe and peaceful resolution.”
