Redding Police Arrest Three Suspects in Connection with Attempted Homicide

REDDING, CA — “On December 10, 2025, at approximately 6:30 AM, Redding Police officers responded to Mercy Medical Center regarding an adult male who had sustained multiple stab wounds during an assault near 8th Street and West Street. The victim was transported for emergency surgery and later provided information to officers.

Through the course of the investigation, officers identified three adult suspects connected to the stabbing and obtained warrants for their arrest on various felony charges.

On December 18, 2025, Redding Police officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Mary Street as part of this investigation. During the operation, officers detained Jeanine Fuller, 20 years of Redding. Fuller was confirmed to have a felony warrant related to this case and was booked into the Shasta County Jail for 182(a)(1) PC: Conspiracy to Commit Any Crime.

Later that same day, officers contacted and arrested Marcellus Penaloza, 21 years of Redding, who had a felony warrant related to this case. Penaloza was transported to the Redding Police Department for an interview before being booked into the Shasta County Jail for 664-187(A) PC: Attempted Murder and 245(a)(4) PC: Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury.

Officers additionally located and arrested Chase Morrow, 39 years of Redding, who was wanted on a felony warrant related to this case. Morrow was taken into custody without incident, interviewed at the Redding Police Department, and later booked into the Shasta County Jail for 182(a)(1) PC: Conspiracy to Commit Any Crime.

All three suspects admitted to their involvement in the assault and acknowledged they were aware the victim was in need of medical attention when they fled.
