Truckee Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Residential Firearm Discharge Incident

TRUCKEE, CA — The Truckee Police Department has released a request for public assistance to identify a male suspect linked to a firearm discharge into a residence on Deerfield Drive. According to department officials, the incident took place within a residential neighborhood and resulted in the death of a domestic dog. Investigators believe the individual captured in surveillance imagery is responsible for the discharge.

Witnesses who have previously interacted with the unidentified suspect describe him as a Hispanic male, approximately 18 to 20 years of age. Physical descriptions provided to law enforcement indicate the subject is roughly 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds, and possesses a light complexion, short black hair, and a mustache.

Surveillance footage shows the subject was present in the area on two separate occasions: Tuesday, December 2, and again on Tuesday, December 9, when the incident occurred. Reports indicate that on both dates, the individual was wearing the same clothing shown in the released photograph. Furthermore, the subject was observed carrying a box that investigators believe contained a firearm.
