Reckless Driver Arrested – No Bail Hold

Sacramento, CA –

“Last night, December 16,  Sheriff’s North Patrol Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle after noticing it was operating without a rear license plate.

Instead of pulling over, the driver, Mitchell Smith, 40,  sped away driving recklessly.

After a short pursuit, Smith collided with an uninvolved motorist before losing control and crashing into a concrete curb, disabling his vehicle. Deputies took him into custody without further incident. Fortunately, no one was injured.

A records check revealed Smith had multiple outstanding felony warrants and was on Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) – a form of state parole.

Smith was arrested booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he remains ineligible for bail.

Per California law, Smith’s booking photograph cannot be released since his offenses are considered “non-violent.””
