Madera County Authorities Arrest Man Wanted in Maryland on Suspicion of Sexual Assault
MADERA COUNTY, CA — “Detectives with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland who requested assistance with apprehending a wanted suspect who committed a sexual assault in their jurisdiction. Detectives later connected this suspect to a second assault that occurred in Los Banos, CA. Madera County Sheriff’s Office detectives authored a search warrant and arrest warrant for the suspect.
On December 9, 2025, 27-year-old Madera resident Mauricio Martinez-Garcia was arrested at his residence without incident. Martinez will be booked into the Madera County Sheriff’s Office Jail for charges of rape and will later be extradited to the state of Maryland.
