OAKLAND, CA — A fugitive accused of murdering his nephew in Oakland has been arrested out-
of-state.
Marvin C. Prudhomme, 30, of Oakland, remains in custody in Arizona, pending
extradition to Alameda County.
Phoenix police arrested Prudhomme on November 27. He faces charges in Arizona for
resisting arrest/risking physical injury, and obstruction for initially refusing to provide his true
name. He is being held at the Fourth Avenue Jail in Phoenix.
Prudhomme had been a fugitive from justice for eight months in connection with two
shootings. These shootings occurred at an apartment, near 14th and Filbert streets in
Oakland.
Prudhomme allegedly fatally shot his nephew 19-year-old Zion Greenwood on April 4, 2025.
He also allegedly shot and wounded his nephew’s father, before fleeing from California.
When Prudhomme returns to California he faces multiple felony charges. His charges filed in
Alameda County include murder, attempted murder, intentional discharge of a firearm, and
possession of a firearm by a felon.
The handgun Prudhomme allegedly used for both shootings was found in someone’s yard,
near 14th and West streets in Oakland.
It was recovered the same day as the shootings.
Prudhomme reportedly told at least two persons that he was in trouble for the shootings.
Prudhomme has prior convictions for making criminal threats, false imprisonment, domestic
violence, and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
