TRUCKEE, CA — The Truckee Police Department successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested the driver in the early hours of Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The incident began when the Grass Valley Police Department alerted Truckee officers to a vehicle, reported stolen out of Red Bluff, that had been observed in Grass Valley.
Truckee officers subsequently initiated an operation based on information suggesting the vehicle might be traveling toward Truckee on Interstate 80. Patrol units positioned themselves to monitor traffic, where they identified and located a truck towing the reported stolen vehicle.
Officers conducted a traffic stop, leading to the immediate arrest of the driver on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle. A search conducted subsequent to the arrest resulted in the recovery of suspected narcotics. The driver was transported and booked into jail on the associated charges.
The vehicle’s passenger was also detained at the scene. It was determined that the passenger had an outstanding warrant from a separate county. Following standard procedure, the passenger was cited for the warrant and subsequently released.
