San Luis Obispo Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges Related to Minors and Narcotics
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — The San Luis Obispo Police Department has arrested a man on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact with a minor, narcotics distribution, and attempted sexual assault.
The investigation began in August 2025 after a local medical facility notified the SLOPD that a juvenile patient had disclosed inappropriate contact by an adult male. The initial disclosure included allegations that the adult had provided narcotics to the minor and arranged to meet with the minor with the intent to commit a lewd act.
The SLOPD Detective Bureau assumed the investigation, leading to the identification of suspect Arturo Rodriguez Reyna, 21. Detectives determined that Reyna had contacted several girls under the age of 16 through text messages and social media platforms. Reyna reportedly offered to use or sell narcotics to these juveniles and encouraged them to use substances including cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. During the investigation, a second underage victim was identified, and it was determined that Reyna had attempted to sexually assault one of the victims.
On November 19, 2025, SLOPD Detectives served a search warrant at Reyna’s residence on the 1300 block of Diablo in San Luis Obispo. Detectives located evidence related to the crimes during the search. Several firearms were seized, including an unregistered and illegally modified AR-15–style rifle. Two other residents were arrested on narcotics and weapons violations.
Reyna was arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on multiple charges, including Felony Arranging to Meet/Meeting a Minor With Intent to Commit a Lewd Act (PC 288.4(b)), Felony Providing Narcotics to a Minor / Encouraging Minor to Use Narcotics (H&S 11353(c)), and Felony Possession/Transportation of Narcotics for Sale (H&S 11352(a)). Misdemeanor charges included Sending Explicit Content to a Minor (PC 288.2(a)(2)) and Possession of Methamphetamine (H&S 11377(a)).
SLOPD Detectives have not identified any additional victims at this time. Anyone with information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Marques at smarques@slocity.org or 805-594-8060. Anonymous information may be referred to Crime Stoppers.
