Man Arrested on Murder Charge Following Discovery of Injured Woman Near Victorville Encampment
VICTORVILLE, CA — Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Victorville Substation responded to a medical aid call at Victor Valley Global Hospital on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at approximately 3:38 p.m. The response followed a report from an individual who stated a homeless male had informed him of an injured female lying on the ground near the hospital.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the individual who made the initial report, identified as Taureen Alden Sims, 38, a transient of Victorville. Sims subsequently led deputies, fire personnel, and American Medical Response (AMR) to the location of the female victim. She was found near a homeless encampment situated south of Verde Road and east of Hesperia Road. The victim, a 52-year-old adult female, was alive but unresponsive and presented with trauma to her face.
The victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where staff pronounced her deceased. The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail was notified and assumed control of the investigation at the location. Following the initial investigation, Sims was arrested for Penal Code 187, Murder. He is currently being held at the High Desert Detention Center.
