Traffic Stops Yield 2 Arrests for Drug Possession in Separate Incidents

LIVERMORE, CA — Two traffic stops escalated to more serious incidents for possession of illicit drugs in Livermore.
Daniel O. Sutton, 22, of Pleasant Hill; and Samuel Rose, 36, of San Jose, were arrested in separate incidents on
November 8.
At approximately 1 a.m., Sutton was stopped for failing to yield at a stop sign, near North Livermore and Railroad
avenues. Officers observed suspected cocaine in plain view and a large quantity of marijuana on the floorboard.
“Sutton admitted to having more drugs in his car and at his home,” Livermore police said in a prepared
statement.
A search of Sutton’s car revealed –
· 2 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms
· More than one ounce of cocaine packaged for sale
· More than 2 ounces of MDMA (Ecstasy)
· 100-plus tabs of LSD
· 35 amphetamine pills
· A half pound of marijuana
· 100 THC Vape Pens
A follow-up search of Sutton’s residence revealed –
· 2 more pounds of psilocybin mushrooms
· 65 amphetamine pills
· 100-plus tabs of LSD
Sutton was booked for multiple felony drug charges, including transportation and possession of controlled
substances for sale.
Later at approximately 11:30 p.m., Rose was stopped for expired registration tags, near North Canyons Parkway
and Airway Boulevard. Officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view, Livermore police said in a prepared
statement. “Rose admitted to having methamphetamine in the car.”
A search of Rose’s car revealed –
· 1.09 grams of suspected fentanyl
· 7.42 grams of methamphetamine
· 15 hydrocodone pills
Rose was booked for several charges, including possession of controlled substances, with prior convictions.
