Man Arrested for Allegedly Breaking into Cars in Fairfield Reportedly Found to Have Active Warrant in Georgia

FAIRFIELD, CA — “At around 3:33 am on Sunday, November 9, officers responded to the 2700 block of Orchid Street following a report that a community member had detained a person for breaking into residential vehicles.

While officers were en route, the culprit fled and began jumping over fences. Officers immediately begin working together – with some setting up a perimeter, while others began interviewing witnesses.

Officer Cuevas deployed his drone to assist officers searching for the suspect on the ground, eventually locating a man matching the suspect’s description walking on the grounds of the Public Safety Academy.

As officers closed in, the man again began jumping over fences in an attempt to evade arrest. Unfortunately, it turned out his escape tactics could use some improvement as he was taken into custody without incident.

Upon arrested, the man, who self-identified as ‘Deandre Williams’, was in possession stolen items as well as burglary tools.

The name provided though, was false.

Dispatch conducted some detective work of their own and located a person with the same date of birth – but a different name. That man had an outstanding felony warrant for burglary.

The Solano Sheriff’s Office further helped clinch the man’s identity. They responded out with a finger print reader, ultimately identifying the suspect as 25-year-old Mahaddie Underwood, who also had an extraditable warrant out of Georgia.

Underwood was booked into County Jail for both the warrants and multiple burglary-related charges.”
