BRENTWOOD, CA — Police arrested Mario R. Delgado, a 45-year-old resident of Brentwood, for allegedly committing a burglary, and an outstanding warrant. Delgado remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bond, pending a preliminary court hearing on December 15.
Officers were dispatched to an alarm call on the 8800 block of Brentwood Boulevard on October 29 at 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an open door at the business. Police checked inside but nobody was found inside.
The officers next proceeded to review security camera video recorded at the time of the incident. The video evidence implicates Delgado in the burglary. “It shows a male suspect (later identified as him) inside the business stealing items,” Brentwood police said in a prepared statement.
A Brentwood police sergeant found Delgado a short time later, and Delgado was placed under arrest at 3 a.m. His identification check only added to Delgado’s troubles with the law. It revealed his outstanding warrant, and his felony probation status.
Delgado was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility, where he was booked. He was later transferred to the West County Detention Facility in Richmond.
He was booked for burglary and revocation of probation. He also faces charges for addict in possession of a firearm, and a bench warrant for failure to appear for a misdemeanor charge.
“Had it not been for the video surveillance, and quick response by officers, the suspect may not have been arrested,” Brentwood police said.
