SAN FRANCISCO, CA —

“NEWS RELEASE – October 31, 2025

SFPD Conducts Retail Blitz Operation at Stonestown Galleria and West Portal Drone as First Responders deployed with 13 suspects arrested

On October 30, the San Francisco Police Department led a successful multi-agency Organized Retail Theft Prevention operation at Stonestown Galleria and the West Portal commercial corridor. During this special operation, 13 shoplifters targeting various businesses were arrested.

The retail theft prevention operation, in partnership with SFPD Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team, Drug Market Agency Coordination Center, SFPD Taraval Station, California Highway Patrol ORC Taskforce and the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, utilized collaborative strategies like plain clothes surveillance teams, uniformed arrest teams, and Drone as First Responders to ensure safety of retail customers and workers while ensuring suspects were held accountable.

Multiple large retail establishments and their loss prevention departments also worked closely with SFPD on executing this one-day special operation.

As an ongoing effort to address organized retail crime at popular retail locations like Stonestown Galleria and the West Portal commercial corridor, SFPD deploys citywide plainclothes officers for general and targeted operations in addition to the efforts by uniformed police patrols. Just this year alone, SFPD has made hundreds of arrests in different neighborhoods like South of Market and Mission District.

As part of a $15.3 Million grant awarded in 2023 by the State of California for Organized Retail Theft Prevention SFPD is committed to addressing the issue that has greatly affected our community. Our officers have made dozens of ORC arrests in recent months and will continue to conduct these operations throughout San Francisco to reduce thefts at local businesses.

Although arrests have been made, these cases remain open and active investigations. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.”
