Oroville Man Arrested for Allegedly Driving on Suspended License While in Possession of Narcotics
OROVILLE, CA — An Oroville man was taken into custody after allegedly being caught in possession of narcotics while driving on a suspended license.
According to a press release by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, a patrol deputy pulled over a vehicle in the area of Mitchell and Hewitt avenues for an alleged vehicle code violation.
The deputy identified the driver of the vehicle a s 37-year-old Duston Walker of Oroville, whose license had been suspended, the sheriff’s office said.
The deputy then conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly discovered unspecified amounts of psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and paraphernalia.
Walker was arrested and booked into the Butte County jail on suspicion of the possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving a vehicle with a suspended license.
An additional felony charge was applied under Proposition 36 for individuals with two or more prior drug-related convictions, according to the sheriff’s office.
