Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Watsonville; 16-Year-Old Arrested in Separate Nearby Incidents
WATSONVILLE, CA – Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of October 29 in the 1300 block of Main Street, where a 34-year-old man was pronounced dead. Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call received at 8:31 p.m. and arrived on scene within one minute. Upon arrival, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately attempted life-saving measures. Despite these efforts, the man was declared deceased at the scene.
Authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Detectives are continuing to gather information and follow up on witness statements to identify those involved.
During the course of the investigation, officers responded to two separate nearby incidents involving an assault and threats with a firearm. A 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody and booked into Juvenile Hall for those offenses. Investigators have not yet determined whether these incidents are related to the fatal shooting.
