October 27, 2025- Ventura County, CA.
Two men are now in custody after allegedly robbing a CVS pharmacy and fleeing on foot, only
to be caught within minutes by responding deputies.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. Sgt. Christopher Zapata, at
approximately 5:12 a.m. on Oct. 25, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Camarillo
Patrol Station were dispatched to a Camarillo CVS after an employee reported that two male
suspects “demanded cash from the register and threatened to harm her if she didn’t comply.”
One of the suspects indicated that he was armed, although no weapon was seen. The men fled
the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Deputies rolled onto the scene in short order and quickly verified the robbery and obtained
detailed suspect descriptions. Within minutes, nearby VCSD patrol units observed two
individuals matching those descriptions near a local motel.
Deputies made contact with the two men, and following a brief investigation, took them into
custody without incident.
The two suspects were identified as Zaire Mclean, 24, of Camarillo,
and Jonathan Rios, 22, of Thousand Oaks. Both men were transported to Ventura County Jail,
where they were booked on charges of robbery and conspiracy, with their bail set at $100,000
each.
