PINON HILLS, CA — Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, assisted by Hesperia detectives and the California Highway Patrol Aviation Unit, executed a search warrant on Tuesday, October 27, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m. The operation took place in the 12200 block of Silver Rock Road in Pinon Hills as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of recent train burglaries in the Victor Valley area.
While investigators were en route to the property, CHP Aviation observed two vehicles leaving the location. Deputies from the Phelan Sub-Station conducted coordinated traffic stops. The driver of a white van, identified as 28-year-old Pinon Hills resident Jesus Andres Velez, failed to yield and led deputies on a pursuit lasting approximately 26 minutes before being taken into custody in Adelanto.
A search of the van revealed a significant quantity of stolen property linked to the train burglaries. Investigators proceeded to the residence, where they located a Polymer 80 pistol and additional stolen goods. The BNSF Railroad Police responded to the scene and took possession of the recovered property, which was valued at approximately $60,479.11.
Velez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on multiple felony charges, including possession of stolen property.
