Man Intentionally Struck by Hit and Run Driver – Deputies Investigating

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Valley Station responded to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian incident on Monday, October 27, 2025, at approximately 7:38 p.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of Hess Boulevard and Senilis Avenue in Morongo Valley. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was initially dispatched to the scene for what was believed to be a possible hit-and-run collision.

Upon arrival, CHP officers determined that the victim, identified as 50-year-old Christopher Garcia, a resident of Morongo Valley, had been intentionally struck by a vehicle. Morongo Valley Fire Department paramedics pronounced Garcia deceased at the scene before deputies arrived.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. At this time, no suspect information has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
