Bloomington Man Arrested in Fatal Colton Road Rage Shooting

Colton, CA – The Colton Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday afternoon near the intersection of North Rancho Avenue and West Valley Boulevard.

On October 27, 2025, at approximately 12:36 p.m., Colton Police received calls reporting a shooting at the location. Responding officers found a male victim, identified as Armando Andrez Cayetano, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Mr. Cayetano was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from an altercation between the victim and another motorist, during which the fatal injuries were sustained. Following the confrontation, the suspect reportedly fled the scene.

The Colton Police Department Detective Division immediately assumed control of the investigation. Through investigative leads, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Lorens Cota, a resident of Bloomington, California. Cota was apprehended by detectives later the same evening, October 27, 2025.

Following his arrest, Cota was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on listed charges. He is currently being held without bail.
