Watsonville Man Arrested for Felony DUI Following Major Injury Crash
WATSONVILLE, CA – California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a major injury crash just outside of Watsonville on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The collision occurred just prior to 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Green Valley Drive and Airport Boulevard.
The incident involved three vehicles: a silver Chevrolet Equinox, a motorcycle, and a Toyota Camry. According to the CHP report, the Chevrolet Equinox collided with the motorcycle, and the impact subsequently caused the motorcycle to crash into the Toyota Camry.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Following the investigation at the scene, the driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, identified as a 27-year-old resident of Watsonville, was taken into custody. The individual was arrested for felony driving under the influence (DUI).
The California Highway Patrol highlighted the arrest as an example of the consequences of impaired driving and emphasized the ongoing effort to maintain road safety through responsible driving practices. The investigation into the full circumstances of the three-vehicle collision remains ongoing. The names of the parties involved, other than the driver arrested, were not immediately released by the agency. The arrest was processed within Santa Cruz County jurisdiction.
