Sacramento Robbery Suspect Allegedly Used Facebook Marketplace to Lure his Victim

SACRAMENTO, CA — “On September 23, 2025, 27-year-old Anthony Richard used a fake Facebook Marketplace profile to contact a victim selling gaming consoles. He directed the victim to an apartment complex on Howe Avenue to complete the sale. When they met, Richard pulled a handgun, threatened to shoot the victim, and stole the gaming consoles before fleeing the scene.

The victim later positively identified Richard during a photo lineup, and a Ramey arrest warrant was obtained for robbery (PC 211).

Yesterday morning, Sheriff’s Robbery Detectives arrested Richard outside the courthouse, where he was in court for an unrelated matter. The arrest was made without incident. Richard was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he is being held on $100,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear in court on October 27. ”
