“On 05/10/2022, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested Chase Jason Weston (aka Jason David Long) for a violent sexual assault which occurred in northern Sacramento County in 1996.

Weston was detained and arrested as he was preparing to board a flight to Mexico from Texas.

Despite investigative efforts at the time of the assault, a suspect was never identified and the case went cold. The case remained unsolved until recently when detectives from the Sacramento

County Sheriff’s Office requested evidence be processed utilizing techniques not available at the time of the initial crime. New investigative leads were developed which ultimately led to the identification of Chase Jason Weston. No additional information or booking photo is available at this time.
