Juveniles Arrested for Retail Thefts at Sun Valley Shopping Center

CONCORD, CA — Juveniles arrested recently for thefts at Sun Valley Shopping Center are under
investigation for additional retail thefts—within the last two weeks.

Concord police released photos of the juvenile suspects on October 21 with their faces obscured for privacy reasons.

The shopping center has become a frequent target of organized retail thefts. The latest incident
involved four juveniles who were reported for running from a store carrying stolen merchandise.

They each fled in “different directions” when they saw police arriving at the scene.

“Officers quickly pursued and apprehended all four juvenile suspects,” Concord police said in a
prepared statement. “A big thank you to Pleasant Hill PD for their assistance. Thanks to the quick
response and teamwork, another theft was stopped. Our community remains a little safer.”

All four suspects were transported and booked at Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall in Martinez. The
case against them is being reviewed for potential criminal charges. Their identities were not released
for publication as is common practice involving juvenile suspects.

Various cosmetic products with approximately a $3,400 retail value were recovered and returned to
the targeted store, according to the Concord police.

The investigation of recent thefts at the shopping center remain ongoing.

“Detectives are investigating whether these individuals are connected to other recent high-value thefts from the same store over the
past two weeks.”
