PALM SPRINGS, CA — The Palm Springs Police Department is requesting public assistance in identifying two individuals involved in the suspected theft of two dogs on Friday, October 17, 2025.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., the two small Yorkshire Terriers, identified as Maggie and Winnie, wandered from their residence in the 700 block of San Lorenzo Road after a door was reportedly left open. A male subject was observed picking up the animals.

The man is described as Hispanic, in his 30s–40s, wearing a black cap, a white shirt with the phrase “I NEED COFFEE,” black shorts, and white shoes, and carrying a purple backpack. He has tattoos on his right leg, possibly an eagle design, and a right arm sleeve.

He was reportedly accompanied by a woman described as white, in her 30s with brown hair. She was wearing a leopard-print dress, brown boots, and carrying a black purse. The two subjects were observed departing the area quickly after the dogs were retrieved.

The dogs are both microchipped, and each is valued at approximately $2,500. Authorities are seeking information to identify the individuals involved in the incident and any reports of sightings of Maggie or Winnie.
