Spike Strip Halts Stolen Jeep Gladiator Pursuit; Driver in Custody
EL CENTRO, CA — October 18th 2025 — “Earlier this week, California Highway Patrol – El Centro Area Officers were involved in a failure to yield pursuit of a stolen Jeep Gladiator. During the pursuit, Officers successfully deployed a spike strip, disabling the vehicle. The driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
Teamwork by all involved units helped bring this incident to a safe conclusion. The California Highway Patrol would like to remind everyone to take extra precautionary steps such as checking locks on your vehicle doors, using anit theft devices and parking in well-lit areas whenever possible. These simple steps can greatly reduce your chances of becoming a victim of vehicle theft.”
