Repeat Offender with Felony Warrant Arrested in Murrieta; Large Amount of Drugs Seized
MURIETTA, CA – A repeat offender with an outstanding felony warrant was apprehended by a Murrieta Police Department (MPD) officer on an unspecified date. The officer, identified as Ofc. Smith, recognized the female individual and conducted a records check, which confirmed the existence of a warrant for failure to appear in a felony case.
The suspect was subsequently taken into custody. During a search of the individual’s vehicle, conducted at the suspect’s request while retrieving items, the officer reportedly observed drug paraphernalia in plain view.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional narcotics and related items. The seized evidence included 10.72 grams of methamphetamine, 44 M-30 pills, multiple cell phones, a digital scale, a methamphetamine pipe, and a methamphetamine bong.
Following the arrest, the suspect was booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center (CBDC). The Murrieta Police Department issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to maximizing community safety through prompt response to calls, proactive policing, and contacting repeat offenders. The proactive nature of the arrest resulted from the officer’s familiarity with the individual, leading to the discovery of the warrant and the subsequent narcotics seizure.
