A 45-year-old Thousand Oaks man has been arrested after authorities say he beat, restrained, and
sexually assaulted a woman inside his home.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. N. Adrianzen, “patrol
deputies were called to the suspect’s residence on the evening of October 7 after a woman
reported being beaten and sexually assaulted.”
The immediately ensuing investigation led detectives with the VCSD East County Sexual
Assault Unit and Major Crimes Unit to identify Nathan Christian Toft, 45, of Thousand Oaks as the “individual who had
allegedly tied up the victim and held her captive inside his residence,” and had then proceeded to
“torture and sexually assault” her.
Following that determination, detectives promptly obtained a search warrant for Toft’s home.
In the course of the warrant service, they made contact with Toft and summarily took him into
custody “without incident.”
He was transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was on multiple
felony counts, including kidnapping, false imprisonment, domestic violence, criminal threats,
torture, and rape.
Toft remains in custody with bail set at $1 million.
