Pedestrian Fatally Struck on State Route 70 in Plumas County

QUINCY , CA — “On October 8, 2025, at approximately 7:15 PM, a pedestrian was walking eastbound in the center of the #1 passing lane of State Route 70, west of “C” Road, in an unincorporated area of Plumas County.

The pedestrian was wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans, in an unlit area. The driver of an oncoming Subaru could not see the pedestrian in the darkness and was unable to avoid the collision.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries as a result of the impact and was declared deceased at the scene. The pedestrian was identified as a resident of Reno, NV and next of kin will be notified.

The driver and passenger of the Subaru were treated at the scene for complaints of pain, but refused transport by medical personnel.”
