– by F. Scott Faulkner
THOUSAND OAKS, CA — October 8, 2025 – A Simi Valley teenager has been arrested on felony charges after investigators linked him to a
September peeping and burglary incident at an occupied Thousand Oaks home.
In the early morning hours of Sept. 22, deputies with the Thousand Oaks Police
Department responded to a report of a prowler who had been seen peering through the window
of a residence.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. Kevin
Walters, investigators determined that “the suspect then tried to enter the home” before fleeing
the scene.
Detectives from the East County Investigations Bureau’s Property Crimes Unit began an
immediate investigation.
Those efforts ultimately led to the identification of 19-year-old Simi Valley resident Joanky Yanil Galvez as their principal suspect.
On Oct. 7, detectives with the Property Crimes Unit and the Special Enforcement Unit located
and arrested Galvez in Simi Valley. A subsequent search warrant served at his residence turned
up “additional evidence connected to the case.”
Galvez was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on suspicion of burglary and peeping,
with his bail set at $100,000.
