LOWER LAKE, CA — Authorities have initiated a homicide investigation following an incident that occurred on September 19, 2025, in the 12000 block of South State Highway 29. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identification of the victim on September 23 as Luis Padilla Pina, a 25-year-old resident of Lower Lake.
Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to the location at approximately 7:00 a.m. on September 19 following a report of a possible home invasion. Upon entering the residence, deputies located an adult male who was determined to be deceased. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was dispatched to the scene and is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
Detectives have confirmed that the investigation is proceeding as a homicide. The Sheriff’s Office has also stated that this appears to be an isolated incident. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation as of the most recent update. Law enforcement personnel were on the scene for an extended period to gather evidence. The investigation is active and ongoing.
