Man with Multiple Felony Convictions Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit in Kings County
LEMOORE, CA — “On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at around 0134 hours, a Deputy was actively patrolling the vicinity of 17th Ave and Jersey Ave. During this patrol, the Deputy noticed a vehicle leaving the Yokut Gas Station that lacked a front license plate. Furthermore, a registration check revealed that the license plate was registered to a Honda, while the Deputy clearly identified the vehicle as a Jeep.
In light of this, the Deputy tried to stop the vehicle; however, the driver, later identified as 43-year-old Marco Erik Estrella-Medina, a Lindsay resident, accelerated and refused to stop. He drove west on Jersey Ave at speeds exceeding 115 mph, disregarding multiple posted stop signs along the way. Marco proceeded west on Jersey Ave to 21st Ave, where he turned north, and at various intervals, he veered onto the dirt shoulder, presumably to kick up dust and obstruct the Deputy’s view of him.
The chase proceeded to the Avenal Cut-Off, where Marco continued his flight and ultimately entered eastbound SR-198, reaching speeds of 120 mph. Marco then exited onto southbound SR-41, where an assisting Deputy successfully deployed a tire deflation device (spike strips) near Jackson Ave. Despite the deflating tire, Marco continued to drive, at which point the pursuing Deputies observed that the tire was now shredding.
Just prior to reaching Kansas Ave, Marco drove east across SR-41 into a sparsely cultivated grass field, where he collided with a security fence enclosing several acres of a solar panel installation. At this point, Marco abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot, eventually leaping over the fence into the solar field, while leaving behind an unharmed passenger who was apprehended without any issues.
Deputies, with assistance from the Lemoore Police Department and the California Highway Patrol, established a perimeter around the vicinity to prevent Marco’s escape. KCSO’s Air Support Unit (Air-1) was called upon for aerial support in locating and apprehending Marco.
After more than an hour of searching in this area, Air-1 informed the Deputies on the ground that they had found Marco lying beneath a row of solar panels, approximately half a mile from the location where he had fled from his vehicle. The Deputies, along with K-9 “Blue,” were directed by Air-1 to the site. However, as they approached, Marco repeatedly refused to comply with numerous orders to surrender, instead continuing to disregard all efforts made for his apprehension. Subsequently, K-9 Blue was deployed, successfully apprehending Marco, which enabled the Deputies to safely take him into custody.
Marco received on-site treatment from EMS personnel and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further care. After his discharge, Marco was taken into custody at the Kings County Jail. During the booking process, ammunition was located on Marco. A criminal history report revealed that Marco had multiple previous felony convictions.
His charges include evading a peace officer with disregard for public safety, driving the wrong way during a pursuit, resisting arrest, convict felon in possession of ammunition and DUI. His bail was set at $90,000.
The Kings County Sheriff’s Office expresses gratitude to the Lemoore Police Department and the California Highway Patrol for their collaborative efforts in apprehending Marco.”
