ANTIOCH, CA — Detectives with the Antioch Police Department recently arrested man who allegedly kidnapped and shot a woman in Antioch earlier this month. The suspect, 47-year-old Silvio Roberto Belini Jr., is now in custody and is housed at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond.

Investigators identified Belini who lives in Brentwood as the suspect. Detectives assigned to the case arrested Belini on a Ramey warrant on September 17th. He was apprehended at a residence in Brentwood, without further incident. The home was searched and detectives recovered evidence further implicating Belini in the shooting.

The shooting happened during the middle of the afternoon on September 5th. A police dispatcher received multiple reports of gunfire and officers were dispatched at 1:29 p.m. to the 3500 block of Lone Tree Way to investigate.

Upon arrival, officers found a 44-year-old woman suffering from gunshots wounds. Paramedics were able to stabilize the woman before transporting her to a nearby hospital. Fortunately the victim survived. However, she underwent surgery before being released from the hospital.

A prepared statement from Antioch police confirms the suspect knows the victim. “They do know each other, but we are not releasing any other information. It’s still under investigation.”

Belini was booked on suspicion of kidnapping and attempted murder. He remains in custody ineligible for release on bond, pending further review by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting can contact Antioch police Detective Arturo Becerra at 925-779-6937.
