Fresno Police Arrest Juvenile for Alleged Armed Carjacking, Battery
FRESNO, CA — “On Sunday, September 7, 2025, at approximately 9:23 a.m., Northeast District officers responded to an armed robbery in progress at Vons, located at 8949 North Cedar Avenue. The male suspect had stolen alcohol, brandished a firearm at store employees, and attempted to carjack a vehicle in the parking lot. Witnesses reported that the suspect fired a round at the vehicle, which was able to quickly get away. The suspect then fled on foot through a densely populated residential neighborhood.
A Northeast sergeant was in the parking lot when this occurred and immediately responded along with additional officers.
The suspect was quickly located and officers were able to safely detain him, where they determined he was a 15-year-old juvenile. The firearm was located nearby. The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus.
We are incredibly thankful that no one was struck by gunfire or injured during this incident.”
