SAN RAFAEL — Authorities announced the arrest of a major suspected drug trafficker and
seizure of drugs with an estimated $300,000 street value.
Marin County detectives in collaboration with federal Drug Enforcement Administration special
agents arrested Reginald L. Weaver, 57, of San Pablo.
He remains in federal custody ineligible for release on bond.
Federal search warrants were executed on August 19. Detectives from the Marin County
Specialized Investigative Unit and DEA agents searched three locations in Contra Costa
County associated with Weaver.
Investigators recovered approximately 27 pounds of methamphetamine, 3 kilos of cocaine,
2.7 pounds of fentanyl, and 11 pounds of cannabis.
Detectives also recovered two firearms associated with Weaver, a previously convicted felon prohibited from possessing any
firearms.
Detectives from multiple Marin County law enforcement agencies initiated an investigation of
Weaver in April. “He was suspected of selling methamphetamine in the North Bay,” according
to a prepared statement from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
“Weaver participated in sales of methamphetamine to undercover detectives in Marin and
Contra Costa counties. The quantity of methamphetamine being sold meets the threshold for
federal prosecution.”
The San Francisco office of the DEA and Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Task
Force participated in the investigation.
Weaver has prior drug-related arrests on his record. In May of this year, he was arrested for
possession of a controlled substance for sale.
Weaver was arrested in March 2021 for possession of cocaine base for sale. He was also arrested in 2018 and 2017 for possession
of controlled substances for sale.
