Lassen County Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing Child, To Be Sentenced in October
LASSEN COUNTY, CA — “ANTHONY MICHAEL AMERO, 35, of Herlong, CA, was found guilty by jury last week of violating two counts of Penal Code section 288.7(a), sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child under 10, and two counts of Penal Code section 288.7(b), sexual penetration or oral copulation with a child under 10.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 28, 2025.
This outcome would not have been possible without the bravery and willingness of the minor child to come forward and tell their story to the jury.
We thank the jurors for their time and attention over the course of last week, especially with what was sensitive and, at times, uncomfortable subject matter.
Additionally we thank the members of the child forensic interview team at the Child Advocacy Center, District Attorney investigative personnel, Lassen County Victim/Witness, and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office for their respective roles and assistance in the investigation and successful prosecution of this case. The trial prosecutor was District Attorney Rios.”
