Fresno Man on Probation Arrested for Allegedly Shooting at Residence
FRESNO, CA — Police have reportedly arrested an 18-year-old suspect accused of firing upon a residence in late July.
According to a press release by the Fresno Police Department, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, near Clay Avenue and 9th Street, where they found that a home had been struck by gunfire several times.
Investigators recovered multiple shell casings and reviewed surveillance footage that showed a vehicle reversing toward the residence. A man was seen exiting the vehicle and firing several rounds, police said.
Detectives reportedly identified the suspect as Josiah Rodriguez, described by police as an active gang member on felony probation for carjacking.
The Adult Compliance Team later located and arrested him without incident.
A search of Rodriguez’s residence did not recover the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting, police said.
Rodriguez was booked into the Fresno County jail on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited dwelling and multiple firearm possession offenses.
The vehicle from the incident was seized as evidence, police said.
