PLACERVILLE, CA — “On Friday, August 8, 2025, at 5:01 p.m., PPD responded to a wildland fire in the 1600 block of Broadway Drive. Thanks to quick reports from multiple community members, officers were able to locate the suspect, Omar Alexis Salazar, near Highway 50 and Schnell School Road.
Salazar, who had visible injuries and was linked to both the fire and a nearby altercation, was arrested for arson of a structure/forest land and violation of parole. Bail was set at $100,000.
