“The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Detectives were called to investigate a report of physical abuse against an infant. As a result of the abuse the infant sustained numerous injuries and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Sadly, the infant succumbed to the trauma and passed away while in the hospital.
The investigation continued and 37-year-old Kevin Van Streefkerk of Cameron Park was arrested for the murder of the infant. Van Streefkerk was booked in the El Dorado County Jail and is currently not eligible for bail. The investigation is ongoing.”
