Two Arrested for Allegedly Ambushing and Robbing Two People at Gibbs Park in Healdsburg

HEALDSBURG, CA — “On August 3, 2025 at approximately 1727 hours, Healdsburg Police Department officers responded to the area of Gibbs Park for the report of an assault.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered Victim #1 in distress, bleeding profusely from her head. While speaking with Victim #1, it was discovered that she and her husband (Victim #2) had gone to Gibbs Park to use the restroom and when they were returning to their vehicle, they observed a female in need of assistance. As Victim #1 and Victim #2 were attempting to assist the female, she produced a handgun and demanded Victim #1’s personal belongings and vehicle. Victim #1 was then struck in the head with the pistol, causing visible injury. The Suspect was accompanied by two additional individuals and when they discovered they could not operate Victim #1’s vehicle they forced Victim #2 at gunpoint and knifepoint into the vehicle to drive them away from the scene.

Victim #1 was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Healdsburg Police Dispatch put out an immediate county wide alert for Victim #1 & Victim #2’s vehicle and the scene was secured. A short time later, Petaluma Police Department located the vehicle traveling south on Highway 101 and a pursuit ensued. With the help from Petaluma Police Department, CHP, Marin County Sheriff, San Rafael Police Department, the Sonoma County Sheriff, and Victim #2 who was still driving the vehicle; the pursuit ended when Victim #2 ran the vehicle off the road. After a short foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody. An additional juvenile victim (no name will be released) was located and is safe.

Victim #2 sustained no physical injuries and was successfully reunited with Victim #1.

Suspect #1 Davina Humphrey, 51-year-old female from Oakland, CA and Suspect #2 Amina Vaden, 24-year-old female from Oakland, CA were both arrested and charged with the following:

1. 209.5(A) PC: Kidnapping during the commission of carjacking
2. 207(A) PC: Kidnapping
3. 211 PC: Robbery
4. 273A(A) PC: Child Abuse
5. 368(B)(1) PC: Elder Abuse
6. 245(A)(2) PC: Assault with a firearm
7. 246.3(A) PC: Willful discharge of firearm
8. 24610 PC: Possession of undetectable firearm
9. 25850(A) PC: Carry loaded firearm in public
10. 182(A)(1) PC: Conspiracy

Both suspects are being held at the Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $1,020,000.
