Drugs, Firearm and Warrant Arrest

FILLMORE, CA  — July 29, 2025 – A Fillmore-area man is facing multiple charges after deputies discovered drugs, a loaded firearm,
and a felony warrant tied to his name.

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Jarrod Foote, Juan Manuel
Medina-Aguilar, 33, who resides in unincorporated Fillmore, was arrested Friday afternoon after
VCSD Fillmore Station deputies “on routine patrol when they encountered him acting
erratically.”

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 25, 2025, deputies came across Medina-Aguilar,
who showed “clear signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.”

He was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail for booking on that violation.

Medina-Aguilar’s arrest led deputies later that afternoon to a nearby encampment “believed to be
linked to Medina-Aguilar.”

Working in coordination with Fillmore detectives, deputies secured a search warrant and returned to search the site.

What they found raised the stakes: a loaded .22 caliber revolver, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, and “additional evidence”
connecting Medina-Aguilar to the camp.

Medina-Aguilar remains in custody pursuant to additional charges, including possession of a
controlled substance while armed, unlawful firearm transfer and possession of a firearm with an
obliterated serial number.

He was also booked on an outstanding arrest warrant issued from Franklin County, Ohio.
