Two Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Steal Fuel from Glenn County Gas Station
WILLOWS, CA — Two individuals have been arrested for allegedly trying to steal fuel from a gas station in Glenn County.
According to a press release by the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just after 12 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, to a report of a possible theft in progress at the Gandy and Staley fuel station on Eureka Street.
Responding deputies reportedly located a suspect vehicle matching the description provided in the initial report, a Chevrolet dually pickup truck with no plates, traveling on northbound Eureka Street.
Deputies pulled the truck over and made contact with two adult men matching the provided description of the suspects.
Deputies identified these individuals as as Giosbany Marrero-Zambrano, 41, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Angel Alvarez-Michel, 41, of Los Angeles.
Investigators allege that the suspects vandalized a cabinet at the gas station housing the fuel pump operations, in an attempt to steal diesel fuel.
The suspects were not able to succeed before deputies arrived, the sheriff’s office said.
Both suspects were arrested and booked at the Glenn County jail on suspicion of vehicle registration fraud, vandalism, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools, and theft of utility services.
The incident remains under investigation.
